The 1000 Journals Project is an ongoing collaborative experiment attempting to follow 1000 journals throughout their travels. The goal is to provide a method for interaction and shared creativity among friends and strangers. I launched the project in August of 2000, and it has since reached 40 countries and every US State. The project has resulted in a book, a feature-length documentary, as well as exhibitions at both the Skirball Cultural Center and the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art.
