Privacy Policy - Installed at the stARTup Art Fair, San Francisco 2019. (~300 feet long x 3.5 feet tall)

Made out of hundreds of repurposed tech company t-shirts, this piece is intended to spark conversation and debate about the true cost of free products, and what we give up when we click the “I agree” button without reading the privacy policy.

The artwork text reads:
“Every step you take, every click you make, every link you save, we’ll be watching you...”

Too often, we trade our privacy for convenience without fully understanding how our data is being used or sold. The intent is not to demonize a specific company, rather, to illustrate the normalization of a system where every move we make is being tracked, and our data is sold to the highest bidder. The shirts were primarily gathered at Goodwill locations throughout the Bay Area, and then cut and sewn into individual letterforms.

Special thanks to Firefox (who puts users privacy before profits) for helping make this happen.
